About the Philippines

There are many good reasons to choose the Philippines for your next dive vacation. The underwater world is indescribable. The area between Borneo,
the Philippines and Papau New Guinea has the worlds most rich waters in terms of fish species. The waters and its inhabitants of the Indian and the Pacific Ocean meet here, while at the same time the currents draw up the nutrient rich waters of the depths that lie between the volcanic islands. With such a combination, the marine life is quite simply, fantastic.

The Philippines boasts some 34 000 km2 of coral reefs bearing over 448 species of corals, approximately 3000 different fish species and marine life. Such an exceptional variation in the species on the reef makes the Philippines very popular among divers. It is also well known that there are large possibilities of seeing whale sharks, mantas and other shark species.

The country itself has a beautiful, varied landscape that offers the adventurer many activities. For instance, why not spend a few days topside mountain climbing, caverning, or trekking in the jungle to a waterfall?

The Philippines consists of 7200 islands, where of only a few thousand are inhabited. The majority of the population live on one of eleven islands, where Luzon in the north is the largest. The islands are all very mountainous and the only flatlands are found on Luzon and Mindanao in the south.

You can visit the Philippines all around the year but the best diving you will get during the period from October to June. The water is warm, 24-30 degrees C and offers very inviting diving.
